Super Micro Computer, Inc (commonly referred to as Supermicro) (NASDAQ: SMCI) is an American information technology company based in San Jose, California. Founded by Charles Liang, Wally Liaw and Sara Liu on 1 November 1993, it does not produce standard PCs or desktops, but specialises in servers, blades, and high-end workstations for data center, cloud computing, enterprise IT, big data, high performance computing (HPC), and embedded markets,[1][2][3] including many thousands to a single datacenter.[4]
